Eye Health Examinations

An eye exam involves a series of tests to evaluate your vision and check for eye diseases. Our eye techs and doctors may use a variety of instruments, shine bright lights directly at your eyes and request that you look through an array of lenses. Each test during an eye exam evaluates a different aspect of your vision or eye health.

Contact Lens Exam

If you wear or want contacts, you need a contact lens exam in addition to a comprehensive eye exam. our eye techs and  doctors will perform special tests during a contact lens exam to evaluate your vision with contacts. The first test will measure your eye surface to determine what size and type of contacts are best for you. Your doctor may also do a tear film evaluation to make sure you have enough tears to comfortably wear contacts.

Diabetic Exam

Patient’s post-operative care may vary depending on the type of surgery and patient.  Most often, patients are seen by our doctors one day after surgery and then at  day four, one month, three months, six months and one year.  At these visits, our doctors will review the patient’s medication instructions, and evaluate the vision and health of the eye.  It is very important to us that each patient is healing properly after surgery.

Diabetes damages the small blood vessels throughout the body, including those within the retina, causing them to leak blood, resulting in swelling and vision loss. This is called Diabetic Retinopathy. At Drs. Jordan and Bondurant, we use the most advanced technology to evaluate diabetic retinopathy, such as retinal imaging and OCT machine.
